paura dell'acqua

During the Italian Renaissance, as the fear of water made perfume a substitute for bathing, rich extracts of jasmine, tuberose, and rose filled the streets and lingered on the skin like a lover’s kiss. ānti imagines this opulent scent like a Venetian romance wafting through a baroque cityscape.

Petit-grain mandarin and fresh ginger dance on midnight palazzo balconies, while tuberose, jasmine and rose spill from brocade sleeves onto marble stairs. Tonka, cistus, and woody amber form velvet curtains drawn against the break of dawn—secrets confined in golden lockets.

"I combined an overdose of different narcotic and heady flowers, fusing them with a balsamic amber base that's both captivating and bewitching."- Sidonie Lancesseur
